Farhad Shirani Chaharsooghi is an Assistant Professor at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University . Prior to that he was an Assistant Professor at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at North Dakota State University. Before joining NDSU, he was a member of the faculty at New York University. He was a lecturer and postdoctoral researcher at the University of Michigan in Spring and Summer of 2017. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at the University of Michigan in April 2017. He also received his M.Sc. in Applied Mathematics in 2016. His research interests are in the general areas of machine learning, privacy and security, wireless communications, and information theory.

Mahshad Shariatnasab is a Ph.D. student member of Π-CoLab. Mahshad is pursuing her Ph.D. at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University She received her M.Sc. from Khajeh Nasir Toosi University of Technology in 2017. She completed her B.Sc. at Shahid Beheshti University in 2015. Her research interests are in the general areas of security and privacy, reliability, and power systems.

Marian Temprana Alonso is a Ph.D. student member of Π-CoLab. She is pursuing her Ph.D. at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University. She received her B.Sc in Applied Mathematics from Florida International University in 2022. Her research interests are in the general areas of wireless communication, privacy and security.

Hojat Allah Salehi is a Ph.D. student member of Π-CoLab. He is pursuing his Ph.D. at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University. He received his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the Tabriz University in 2010 and his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Sharif University of Technology in 2012. His research interests are in the general areas of classical and quantum source simulation, quantum information theory, and machine learning.


Esteban Schafir is a Ph.D. student member of Π-CoLab. He is pursuing his Ph.D. at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University. He received his M.Sc. in Computer Science from KFSCIS in 2023. His research interests are in the general areas of privacy and security and information theory.



Johanna Dezeme is a B.Sc. student member of Π-CoLab. She is pursuing her B.Sc. at the Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences at Florida International University. Johanna is currently working on a research project focusing on fairness in machine learning.
